Miko Korean Lash Lift Essentials Shield Set

Description

The shield determines the result.

The Korean Lash Lift Essentials Shield Set was designed to eliminate the guesswork behind shield selection while creating the dramatic lifted “L-shape” effect clients consistently request.

This complete professional shield system includes:

  • 6 Hybrid L-Shape Shields (XS, S, M, L, XL, XXL)

  • Silicone Compensators

  • Lower Lash Shields

Unlike traditional rounded shields that can over-curl the lashes back toward the eyelid, these hybrid shields create a sharp lift at the base while keeping the lash tips straighter and elongated.

The result is a dramatic lifted effect that visually makes the lashes appear longer, cleaner, and more open without uncomfortable over-curling.

The universal hybrid design adapts beautifully across multiple eye shapes including:

  • Monolids

  • Deep-set eyes

  • Prominent eyes

  • Hooded eyes

  • Downward-growing lashes

Made from soft medical-grade silicone with a jelly-like texture, the shields naturally adhere to the eyelid without requiring additional glue. The matching compensators help lock every lash into place throughout processing for more consistent lift results.

Because the shield is not just a tool, it is the architecture of the lift.

How To

How To Use: Protocol Step 4 — Shield Placement & Lash Positioning

Select the shield size based on lash length, eye shape, and desired lift intensity.

Press the shield firmly onto the eyelid to create full contact and natural adhesion.

Using the Bold Lift Brush and Nourishing Treatment, carefully position the lashes onto the shield.

Once the lashes are fully positioned, apply the compensators to help maintain lash contact and positioning throughout processing.

For lower lash enhancement, apply the lower lash shields during the service as desired.

Professional Tip

When choosing shield size, the lashes should reach no more than approximately 70% of the shield height.

If unsure between sizes, choose the larger option to avoid over-curling.

How To Clean & Care — Silicone Tools

Proper cleaning is essential to maintain the adhesion, flexibility, and longevity of your silicone tools. Incorrect cleaning methods can weaken the silicone surface, reduce grip strength, and compromise future service performance.

These instructions apply to:

  • Reusable Under Eye Pads
  • Precision Grip Flat Pads
  • Hybrid Shields
  • Compensators
  • Lower Lash Shields

Step 1 — Rinse Immediately After Service

Immediately after removing the silicone tools from the client, rinse thoroughly with lukewarm water to prevent product residue from drying onto the surface.

Allowing adhesive, tint, balm, or chemical residue to dry onto the silicone can affect future adhesion and flexibility.

Step 2 — Wash Gently

Clean using:

  • Antibacterial soap
    OR
  • 70% isopropyl alcohol

Massage gently using clean fingertips while removing all visible product residue.

Important:

Do NOT use alcohol concentrations higher than 70%.

Higher alcohol percentages can begin breaking down the silicone structure over time, causing:

  • Reduced adhesion
  • Loss of flexibility
  • Premature cracking
  • Surface dryness
  • Shortened product lifespan

70% alcohol is effective because it disinfects while evaporating slowly enough to properly break down bacteria without aggressively damaging the silicone material.

Step 3 — Air Dry Only

Allow silicone tools to fully air dry on a clean surface.

Do NOT dry with:

  • Paper towels
  • Cotton pads
  • Towels with lint
  • Tissues

Silicone naturally attracts fibers and lint due to surface static and texture. Materials like paper towels can cling to the silicone surface and compromise adhesion during future services.

Even small fibers left behind can:

  • Affect shield grip
  • Interfere with lash placement
  • Reduce pad adhesion to the skin
  • Compromise precision during the service

Important — Do NOT Use Barbicide

Do not soak silicone tools in Barbicide or similar quaternary ammonium disinfectants.

Why?

Medical-grade silicone is a porous flexible material at a microscopic level. Strong disinfectant concentrates like Barbicide can gradually penetrate and degrade the silicone structure over time.

This may cause:

  • Loss of adhesion
  • Swelling or distortion
  • Silicone breakdown
  • Texture changes
  • Reduced flexibility
  • Surface cloudiness or weakening

Barbicide is designed primarily for hard non-porous surfaces such as metal tools, not soft flexible silicone systems.

For silicone lash lift tools, gentle antibacterial cleansing or 70% alcohol is the safest method to preserve performance and longevity.

Professional Tip

Store silicone tools completely dry in a clean dust-free container to help preserve their grip, flexibility, and professional appearance between services.

FAQ

What makes hybrid shields different?

Hybrid shields create a sharp lift at the lash base while keeping the tips straighter, creating a more elongated and dramatic result.

Why do straight lash tips matter?

Straighter tips help lashes appear visually longer and prevent over-curling back toward the eyelid.

Do these shields require glue?

No. The medical-grade silicone naturally adheres to the eyelid without additional glue.

What are compensators used for?

Compensators apply gentle pressure to help keep lashes securely positioned during processing.

How do I choose the correct size?

Lashes should generally reach about 70% of the shield height. When unsure, choose the larger shield size.

Can these be reused?

Yes. These shields are designed for professional multi-use services when properly cleaned and disinfected.

COMMON MISTAKES

Choosing a Shield That Is Too Small

Undersized shields can cause lashes to curl too tightly, making them appear shorter or touch the eyelid uncomfortably.

Not Applying Enough Pressure During Placement

Firm pressure is necessary for proper adhesion. Weak placement can allow the shield to lift or shift during the service.

Skipping the Compensators

Compensators help maintain even lash contact throughout processing and improve consistency during the chemical phases.

Improper Cleaning Between Uses

Immediately soak shields in water after removal and properly disinfect after each use to preserve adhesion and longevity.
